Handgun ammo and training available

posted on: 2009-06-15

If you're a handgun owner, you know ammunition has been in critically short supply.  Good news...CCW Academy has thousands of rounds available for 38 Special+P, 40, 45, and 380 caliber handguns at their upcoming training.  Students will get priority if ammunition run short, but you can pick rounds up at the training locations even if you are not a student this time.

Home defense and handgun specialty training courses start 6/17/09 in Fargo, and 6/24/09 in Bismarck.  Click on this link for more information, and to sign up.

http://www.ccwacademy.com/nd.htm

These are some of the things students who have taken the CCW training classes have said:

Tom M. from Reno, NV says:

I participated in the Laser Firearms Training Simulator class on 1/13/09.  It was a lot of fun to practice with a real gun (Glock or 1911) without having to reload clips all the time.  The Laser Firearms Training Simulator can simulate almost any shot situation from stationary to moving, from large targets to small, from any distance and much more. Rick offered training tips and techniques on stance, grip, sighting, and breathing that improved my shot pattern considerably.  By the end of the evening I felt more confident using the weapon and using it correctly.  The Laser Firearms Training Simulator class is an easy and cost effective (saving $$$ on ammo) way to practice in a comfortable environment.  I highly recommend this class and will taking it again.  Check the Laser Simulator Skill's Practice Schedule for upcoming dates... and bring a friend.

Jim & Ruth from Honolulu, Hawaii say:

We took Rick's class this past Saturday, Dec. 27 with our son and daughter-in- law who live in Reno, while we were visting for christmas.  What a great class for anyone who not only wants to carry a concealed weapon, but who wants to learn more about firearms in general!  Rick's attitude was very accepting to everyone and everything -- not intimidating to the ladies in any way -- like taking a gun class with a bunch of guys might be if NOT taught by Rick.  We thoroughly enjoyed the whole class experience even though we had never fired a revolver before this class.  Thanks, Rick, for your gentle handling!

Tim D. from Bismarck ND says:

Rick has a common sense  approach to defending yourself and your family if you get in a dangerous situation.  Like any training, the time to do it is before you find yourself in that position.  If you want to know what to do to protect your family, what not to do, and how to do it, I highly recommend this training.

Problems Uploading Pictures to your Ad? - Check the Size!

posted on: 2008-07-29

Some users are running into problems when uploading a photo for their classified ad listing.

The #1 reason for an error message during a photo upload has to do with the photo size.  Many of the new digital cameras (bigger than 5 MegaPixels) default to their highest photo size setting which can create photos anywhere from 3MB to 8MB in size.

Prior to uploading your photo, try resizing it first on your computer to a smaller size.  Then do the upload.  Not only will this prevent error messages, but uploading a small file is Quick!

New Options when Sending Messages

posted on: 2008-06-17

Today we have added a few new options to the messaging feature within each classified ad.

As before, you are still required to be Signed In prior to sending a message.

With this update, you now have the option to automatically include either your Email Address, your Phone Number, or Both when you send a message to a classified ad that has been posted to the site.

Why is this Important!

This new feature makes communication between buyer and seller easier by allowing the potential Buyer to include more contact information.

At the same time, we have made this feature optional in order to ensure that we are protecting the privacy of all of our users.

Direct Ad Link in Emails

Also new today is the inclusion of a direct link to your classified ad in the body of every email that goes out.

Please let us know if you have any questions on these new features.

Ads related to business services

posted on: 2008-05-20

Hello,

Again this is an announcement for ads related to businesses and their services.

Effective immediately, all ads related to business services can be posted for a fee of $19.95 per and ad and good for a maximum of 31 days. However, these ads will only be allowed in the Employment: Work Wanted category. All business service ads that have been paid for, but not posted in the Work Wanted category will be moved there without notice. All ads that have not been paid for will be rejected and payment requested if you wish the ad to be listed.

Additionally, we have placed some restrictions on these ads and you will not be able to pay for the Front Page rotation feature on these ads.

Please note that this does not effect any existing ads - only newly placed ones with a posting date 5/21/08.

This does not affect any normal commercial ad that is advertising a product for sale - such as a car, house, boat, etc.

Thank you,

Changes to Employment: Work Wanted

posted on: 2008-04-22

BismanOnline is making a change in the Work Wanted category.   Customers:

If you are looking for someone to provide a service, visit the homepage for the new Services Directory.  You’ll find names, addresses, phone numbers, plus much more information to help you determine if the provider is the right one for you.

 Businesses:

Starting May 15, 2008, the requirement for a $19.95 Commercial Upgrade fee will be strictly enforced for any business that posts an ad in the Work Wanted category.  We are now offering an upgraded section of BismanOnline designed specifically for businesses called the Services Directory.  Not only can you place text explaining your business or service, but you can add logos, pictures, links to other web sites, testimonials, maps, etc.  You get a “Landing Page”, similar to a small web page that can be filled with appropriate information of your choice, and updated when you want.  It’s like a display ad, but with more information, flexibility, and effectiveness.  At an annual cost of $275 for small businesses with less than 2 full time year round employees, and $550 for larger businesses, it’s great exposure at an affordable rate.  Click here to fill out a form to get included in the Services Directory.

If you are a non-profit group or a non-professional, click here to contact us and find out if you qualify to list in the Work Wanted category as a non-business.

Thank you for you continued support!

Automobile Ad Posting Updated!

posted on: 2008-04-08

Over the last several months we have realized that our search feature couldn't be utilized to the best of its capabilities especially in relation to the automotive categories. Because many of the fields of the ad placement were completely free text field  - meaning users could put anything they wanted in the field - this limited the capabilities of our search tool. For example if I was selling a 2001 Chevy HD 1500 - I might enter various parts of my automobile in the title, description, make and model fields. This caused issues in the search function as users wouldn't know what terms were used in the ad itself. An example would be if I searched for 2001 Chevrolet it would not include my ad based on my title previously described.

We have recently added dropdown lists for the make and model fields for the automobile category to help users using the search feature more accurately find what they are looking for and to elimate the problem described above. We are notifying you of this so that you can be aware of this new feature when placing ads but also to advise users that have placed automobile ads within the last 31 days to please modify their existing ads with the new dropdown lists so that when we make the dropdown lists available in the search feature it will work with the existing ads.  If you do not update your ad users may not be able to find your vehicle in the new search tool. The dropdowns will be added to the search feature within the next couple of days.

We will continue to implement the dropdowns in other categories as we see fit.

Thank you for you continued support and as always we appreciate your feedback on any site enhancements.
